Ecolabel is a product certification system created in 1992 by the European Community. Its purpose is to grant
the consumers the possibility to purchase eco-friendly products, namely able to contribute to improve the
environment and men’s life standard. As a matter of fact, Ecolabel mark is awarded only if, after very accurate
analyses, the products proves to excel in the following environmental elements:
• Air and water quality
• Soil protection
• Waste reduction
• Energy saving
• Natural resources management
• Environment safety
• Biodiversity
The whole productive cycle must be carefully checked in each and every phase, the technologies used must
have a low environment impact with monitored emissions and with strict analyses on the technical perfor-
mances.
An Ecolabel product grants to be free from raw materials harmful to man and the environment. The Ecolabel
mark is a synonym of objective and verifiable guarantee. A board of 14 members designated by the Ministers
of Productive Activities, of the Environment, of Health and Economy examines the certification requests. On
the base of analyses carried out by the technical board with the help of external credited laboratories, they
decide if there are the prerequisites to confer the prestigious acknowledgement.
Ecolabel does not mean only ecosustainability. It also means quality excellence achieved through the newest
production technologies and complex scientific researches. The request for the Ecolabel mark is voluntary
and comes from Ceramica Sant’Agostino need to inform the customers regarding the quality of our proce-
dures from every point of view, the strong attention for the human being and the environment, outside and
inside the factory.

Indications on the recycling circuit
The life cycle of the product comes to an end when the tiles are demolished. The waste materials deriving
from the demolition of the tiles is ceramic scrap, i.e. “inert” materials (materials that are non-reactive, che-
mically and physically stable, resistant to prolonged exposure even to conditions that are extreme from a
thermal, hygometrical and chemical point of view).
The waste materials deriving from the demolition of tiles can be placed in the environment without particular
risks, and can also be used for preparing tile support structures.

Ecolabel è un sistema di certificazione di prodotto creato
nel1992 dalla Comunità Europea e finalizzato a fornire ai
consumatori la possibilità di acquistare consapevolmente
prodotti eco-compatibili, cioè in grado di contribuire
al miglioramento dell’ambiente e degli standard di vita
dell’uomo. Infatti il marchio Ecolabel, dopo analisi molto
accurate, viene concesso solo se il prodotto dimostra di
eccellere nei seguenti fattori ambientali:

In un prodotto Ecolabel è garantita l’assenza di materie
prime ritenute dannose per l’uomo e per l’ambiente.
Il marchio Ecolabel è sinonimo di garanzia oggettiva e
verificabile.
Un comitato costituito da 14 membri nominati dai Mini-
steri delle Attività Produttive, dell’Ambiente, della Salute e
dell’Economia vaglia le richieste di certificazione e decide,
sulla base di analisi effettuate dalla commissione tecnica
con l’ausilio di laboratori esterni accreditati, se esistono i
presupposti per concedere il prestigioso riconoscimento.
Ecolabel non significa solo ecosostenibilità.
Significa anche eccellenza qualitativa ottenuta con
tecnologie produttive all’avanguardia e complesse ricerche
scientifiche.
La richiesta del marchio Ecolabel è volontaria e nasce da
un’esigenza di Ceramica Sant’Agostino di comunicare ai
propri clienti la qualità del suo operato sotto ogni punto di
vista, la sua forte attenzione per l’uomo e l’ambiente, fuori
e dentro l’azienda.

Ecolabel ist ein System zur Produktzertifizierung, das
im Jahr 1992 von der Europäischen Gemeinschaft
eingeführt wurde und das Ziel hat, den Verbrauchern,
die Möglichkeit zu bieten, bewusst umweltverträgliche
Produkte zu erwerben, die dazu beitragen, die Umwelt
und die Lebensqualität von uns Menschen zu verbessern.
In der Tat wird das Gütesiegel Ecolabel nach sehr
sorgfältigen Analysen nur dann gewährt, wenn das
Produkt Spitzenleistungen hinsichtlich der folgenden
Umweltfaktoren zeigt:
• Luft- und Wasserqualität
• Bodenschutz
• Geringere Abfallmengen
• Energieeinsparung
• Management der natürlichen Rohstoffe
• Umweltschutz
• Artenvielfalt
Der gesamte Produktionszyklus muss sorgfältig
in jeder einzelnen Phase kontrolliert werden, die
verwendeten Technologien dürfen nur eine geringe
Umweltbelastung mit kontrollierten Emissionen und
strengen Analysen zu den technischen Leistungen
aufweisen. Bei einem Produkt mit dem Ecolabel ist
garantiert, dass es keine als schädlich für den Menschen
und die Umwelt betrachteten Rohstoffe enthält. Das
Ecolabel-Gütesiegel steht für eine objektive und
überprüfbare Garantie. Ein Ausschuss aus 14 Mitgliedern,
die vom italienischen Ministerium für Industrie, Umwelt,
Gesundheit und Wirtschaft benannt wurden, beurteilt die
Zertifizierungsanträge und entscheidet, auf der Basis der
von der technischen Kommission mit der Hilfe externer
zugelassener Labors durchgeführten Analysen, ob die
Voraussetzungen für den Erwerb dieser anerkannten
Auszeichnung bestehen. Ecolabel bescheinigt nicht
nur ökologische Nachhaltigkeit. Dieses Gütesiegel steht
auch für qualitative Spitzenleistungen durch modernste
Produktionstechnologien und ein komplexe Forschungs-
und Entwicklungsarbeit. Die Beantragung des Gütesiegels
Ecolabel ist freiwillig und ergibt sich aus einer Anforderung
von CSA, den Kunden die Qualität der Arbeit in jeder
Beziehung deutlich zu machen, die große Aufmerksamkeit
für den Menschen und die Umwelt in und außerhalb des
Unternehmens.

Angaben zum Recyclingzyklus
Der Lebenszyklus des Produkts endet mit dem Abriss der
Fliesen. Bei dem beim Abriss der Fliesen entstehenden
Schutt handelt es sich um Keramikmaterial, d.h. um inerte
Materialien (reaktionsträge, chemisch und physikalisch
stabil, beständig gegenüber einer längeren Exposition
auch bei thermisch, hygrometrisch und chemisch
extremen Bedingungen).
Der beim Abriss der Fliesen entstehende Schutt ist mit
keinen besonderen Gefahren für die Umwelt verbunden
und kann auch bei der Vorbereitung von Untergründen
dienen.

Créé en 1992, l’Ecolabel est le label écologique propre à
tous les pays membres de l’Union Européenne. Il s’agit d’un
système de certification di produit visant à donner aux
consommateurs la possibilité d’acheter en connaissance
de cause des produits écocompatibles, c’est-à-dire
pouvant contribuer à l’amélioration de l’environnement
et de la qualité de vie de l’homme. En effet, après de
nombreuses analyses approfondies, l’Ecolabel n’est
décerné que s’il est démontré que le produit excelle dans
les facteurs environnementaux suivants :
• Qualité de l’air et de l’eau
• Protection des sols
• Diminution des déchets
• Économie d’énergie
• Gestion des ressources naturelles
• Sécurité environnementale
• Biodiversité
Tout le cycle de production doit être soigneusement
contrôlé, dans chacune de ses phases, les technologies
utilisées doivent avoir une incidence moindre sur
l’environnement grâce à un meilleur contrôle des
émissions et en procédant à l’examen rigoureux des
performances techniques.
Un produit certifié Ecolabel ne peut pas contenir de
matières premières considérées comme nocives pour
l’homme et pour l’environnement.
L’Ecolabel est un gage d’objectivité de qualités dont la
teneur est vérifiable. Un comité composé de 14 membres
nommés par les Ministères des Activités Productives, de
l’Environnement, de la Santé et de l’Économie examine les
demandes de certification et décide, sur la base d’analyses
effectuées par la commission technique en collaboration
avec les laboratoires externes accrédités, si les conditions
sont réunies pour attribuer ce prestigieux label. Ecolabel
ne veut pas seulement dire écophilie. C’est aussi excellence
qualitative obtenue au moyen de technologies de
production avant-gardistes et de recherches scientifiques
complexes. La demande de l’Ecolabel est une démarche
volontaire ; elle est motivée par l’exigence de CSA de
communiquer à ses clients la qualité de son travail sous
tous rapports, sa sensibilité à l’égard de la qualité de vie
de l’homme et de l’environnement, dans l’entreprise et
au dehors.

Indications concernant le circuit de recyclage
La fin du cycle de vie du produit a lieu au moment de la
démolition des carrelages. Les débris provenant de cette
opération sont des déchets de matériaux céramiques,
et par conséquent des matières “inertes” (non réactives,
chimiquement et physiquement stables, résistantes à
l’exposition prolongée à des conditions extrêmes du point
de vue thermique, hygrométrique et chimique).
Les débris issus de la démolition des carrelages ne portent
pas préjudice à l’environnement, et peuvent y rester sans
présenter de risques particuliers, voire être employés dans
la préparation de sous-couches.

возможность осознанно приобретать экосовместимую
продукцию, то есть таким образом способствовать
улучшению окружающей среды и жизненных
стандартов человека. Действительно, знак Ecolabel
присваивается после тщательного анализа лишь в
том случае, если продукт демонстрирует высшие
показатели по следующим экологическим факторам:

Весь производственный цикл должен быть тщательно
проконтролирован в каждой его фазе, применяемые

производственных характеристик. В продукции со
знаком Ecolabel гарантируется отсутствие исходного
сырья, вредного для человека и окружающей среды.
Знак Ecolabel является синонимом объективной и
поддающейся проверке гарантии. Комитет, состоящий
из 14 членов, назначенных Министерствами по
вопросам Производственной Деятельности, Экологии,
Здоровья и Экономики, рассматривает заявки на
сертификацию и решает на основании анализа,
проведенного технической комиссией с помощью
внешних аккредитованных лабораторий, существуют
ли предпосылки для присвоения престижного
знака. Ecolabel означает не только экоустойчивость.
Он означает также высшее качество, достигнутое с
помощью передовых производственных технологий и
сложных научных разработок. Заявка на знак Ecolabel
носит добровольный характер, она была сделана в
связи с необходимостью CSA донести до собственных
клиентов информацию о качестве своей деятельности
со всех точек зрения, о своем пристальном внимании
к человеку и окружающей среде, как внутри

По поводу цикла повторного использования
Жизненный цикл продукта заканчивается с
разрушением поверхности, покрытой плитками.
Образовавшиеся при этом отходы представляют
собой обломки керамической плитки, следовательно,
являются «инертным» материалом (не вступающим
в реакцию, химически и физически стабильным,
устойчивым к даже длительному и экстремальному
воздействию температур, влажности и химических
веществ). Отходы после сноса плиточного покрытия
могут быть размещены в окружающей среде без особых
рисков, а также могут быть использованы в подготовке
подстилающего слоя.

Indicazioni sul circuito di riciclo
Il termine del ciclo di vita del prodotto si ha con la demoli-
zione delle piastrellature.
I detriti provenienti dalla demolizione delle piastrellature
sono rottami di materiali ceramici, dunque di materiali
“inerti” (non reattivi, chimicamente e fisicamente stabili,
resistenti ad esposizione prolungata anche a condizioni
estreme dal punto di vista termico, igrometrico e chimico).
I detriti di demolizione di piastrellature possono essere
collocati nell’ambiente senza rischi particolari, ed anche
trovare impiego nella preparazione di sottofondi.
