SMARTWOOD WHAT IS THIS?.

How many times have you wished for a real wood floor for your home,

warm, insulating and never the same, but in the end you gave up due to

material costs, installation costs, problems with water, excessive settling,

periodic maintenance etc.?

Problem solved!

Today nature and technology come together in SPC floors (“Solid Polymer

Composite”, evolution of the outdated LVT vinyl floor), currently among

the most modern and innovative solutions that bring a series of practical,

aesthetic and functional advantages.

The SPC, in fact, is a resilient-vinyl-stratified floor with a rigid central core

that ensures considerable dimensional stability and in which, unlike classic

cheap laminate floors, wood fiber is not used in any layer, avoiding therefore

all the problems connected to it.

The best SPC on the market consist of 5 layers, each of which performs

a different and substantial function: on the top we find two transparent

layers that ensure protection from UV, scratches and stains, then a layer of

decorated vinyl, in the center a heart made of stone and PVC that provides

rigidity and stability to the slat and finally, at the base, a pre-glued IXPE

mat that guarantees acoustic insulation and comfort.

Among the “pro” of SPC products:

• Impermeability (bathroom and kitchen ok);

• Low thickness. It is very often laid on previous floors (as long as they

are rigid and flat) without costly and polluting demolitions;

• Resistance to foot traffic;

• Central rigid support that drastically reduces the dimensional instability

of previous LVT models;

• Surface comfortable to walk on and warm to the touch;

• Compatibility with pets;

• Acoustically insulating;

• Thermostability;

• Simple, quick, economical installation, ideal for renovations. DIY

installation is also possible for enough skilled people. If required, it can

be uninstalled and reassembled elsewhere with simplicity;

• Advanced design that mimics natural woods;

• Fully recyclable at end of life;

1. The surface protection (wear layer) is 0.55 mm (the strongest) with

additional “Ultimate shield” technology that makes Smart-Wood up to 10

times more resistant to scratches, stains and wear than competitors.

2. Smart-Wood is quick and easy to install, with the I4F® patented “click-

clack” system.

3. The surface embossing of smart-wood is HD and has a high number of

graphic variations compared to other SPCs on the market.

4. The 1 mm IXPE mat is pre-installed on the back for maximum ease of

installation and saving time. Smart-wood’s mat, with a density of 100 kg /

m3, is much more performing and sound-absorbing than similar products:

with a thickness of 1 mm, you get results that competitors achieve with

mats of 1.5 mm which, however, can sometimes lead a release in “click-

clack” junctions.

5. The core of Smart-Wood, with “Endurance tech core” technology, is

made of 70% natural stone and 30% virgin PVC (no recycled PVC and /

or recycled waste) and is the densest on the market with 2000 kg / m3.

Recent tests place it, according to the strict American standards ASTM F

963, at a level of safety, for heavy metals, even higher than that required

for children’s toys.
